Every year independence day used to be a decently big event, I myself used to go to uncle’s house to fly kite. Nevertheless, bird being strangled by “chinese” string used to make to the headlines. Dying of birds was no doubt a sad thing but it also represented the sheer number of people involved in flying kite
But nowadays, especially this year(2024) there were no such major headline, nor did I saw many people flying kites and nor did I flew a kite myself. This might seem a irrelevent observation but this is a serious concern as it depicts the general mood of the citizens, if the people are happy they will involve in these small activities and find happiness in it. But if they are tired, burntout, unhappy they wouldn’t even bother to think about these events. And flying kites is just an example. We can clearly see a pattern in the decline of these age old practises as the stress and sadness level increases
And mark my words, no country can ever flourish with unhappy and burntout citizens
It is quite ironical that burntout people and unemployed people live in the same country and still we are not able to balance out the work equally. This further shows the concernlingly less efficacy of our education system and how it has turned into another buisness model making unemployable robots(humans)
